AHMEDABAD: Jitesh Hinhoria was often contracted to supply drugs, mainly cocaine, for high-profile rave parties in Mumbai, city crime branch officers said.
Police added that Hinhoria had started off with working with various pharmaceutical firms and had held the post of technical director at a leading ketamine manufacturing company.
It was here that he reportedly had the idea of making more money by illegally manufacturing and selling ketamine.
He soon began taking work contracts from pharma companies outsourcing ketamine and started his own business.
Hinhoria would source the raw materials in the garb of manufacturing or processing medical drugs and began approaching drug peddlers to sell ketamine, mephedrone and cocaine.
He was found to be in touch with many high-profile people in Mumbai to whom he mainly supplied cocaine for rave parties, a crime branch source said.
“He used to send the cocaine in private luxury buses, mainly in 5kg parcels,” said an investigator talking about his nexus with bus operators.

A draft report by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has revealed that the Kerala Medical Services Corporation Ltd (KMSCL) supplied expired medicines to 26 government hospitals between 2016 and 2022. The report also highlighted that KMSCL did not conduct quality checks on the drugs. Additionally, the report criticized KMSCL for its lack of attention to drug quality and highlighted discrepancies in purchase during the pandemic period, including paying 100% advance to a firm at a high rate for PPE kits. The report has been submitted to the state government for review.

Killers said ‘all is forgiven’ to lure couple to Mumbai
Karan Chandra and his wife Gulnaz were lured to Mumbai by Gulnaz’s father, who claimed to have forgiven them for their marriage against his wishes. The couple arrived in Mumbai and were offered good prospects, but were subsequently murdered by Gulnaz’s father, his son, and others. The father confessed to the police that he killed the couple because his daughter had married outside their community. The bodies of Karan and Gulnaz were found separately, and the three men involved were remanded in police custody.
